Elephant's Arch, Pantelleria island, Sicily, Italy

Pantelleria is a spectacular Italian island. It is the largest of the Sicilian islands, and lies quite close to Tunisia. It has numerous attractions, including hot-water pools and caves, due to its vulcanic nature. The sea is of course spectacular but so is the internal landscape. Pantelleria is well-known for the production of wine and capers. This photograph is of the "elephant's arch", where a rock that closely resembles an elephant's trunk ends in the sea, forming a natural arch.
