Evi-dence is accumulating in favor of a toxic hemolytic origin, the toxins beingthe result of some one of the associated conditions. It is more common inmales than females and in middle life. It rarely affects children. Preg-nancy seems to be in some way responsible for a certain number of has also followed lactation.
