SMITH & , ADRIAN, MICH., OCTOBER 30. Plans are already under way for rebuilding the entire plant as men- tioned in our Cleveland in a re- cent issue. E, W. Feugar, Irvington, N. J. E. W. Feugar is a fine example of a good business man who can make a success of anything he undertakes. Some years ago, though engaged in cither of business, he undertook Ihe growing of flowers, partly as a pastime. He was so successful that two years ago he erected quite an (xtensive range at his present loca- tion. Linden avenue, Irvington, X. J. Three ne^v houses, 30x150 feet each, have been erected for him this year by the King Construction Co. These liouses are built on the connecting plan, with concrete foundations. In reducing shade to the minimum, we have never seen more successful work than has been accomplished in the construction of these houses. The entire range now comprises a glass area of about square feet. Much the larger part of the crop is carnations. There is one house of chrysanthemums and about 50,000 geraniums will he grown for next season. In carnations. Enchantress, Winsor, Mrs. Patten, White Enchant- ress and White Perfection are ex- tensively grown. The quality of White Perfection, now seen at this range, is much above the average for this sea- son. Beacon and Victory are grown for red. As already stated, Mr, Feu- gar is engaged in other business and absent much of the time. In the se- lection of a foreman he has shown the same good judgment which marks his other activities. Edwin Persson, the energetic young man in charge of the range, has a good knowledge of the florist business, and what is also very important, seems to understand the value of and appreciate a good class of men for assistants. The en- tire cut flower product of this range is handled by Henshaw & F
