Weaver, of Ronks, Pa., who has been growing five hundred on trial, writes us under date of Jan. 8, 1912: "So far this season this variety has produced more than double the blooms Beacon has, planted in the same house, and I feel sure it will maintain its lead the balance of the season. Budd, who was personally to address the Detroit Florists* Club at the meeting of February 19, could not be present. His paper, entitled "Where Some of Us Are Lame," was read and brought forth an interesting discus- sion; in fact, it contained so much food for thought that it was moved that it be read again at the meeting of March 4. J. J. Karins, of Henry A. Dreer's, was in attendance at the meeting of February 19 and reported business in general all over the country as being good and the prospects fine. Henry Eahaley and Adolph Thoman were unanimously elected members of the Detroit Florists' Club. Albert Havrane, of Walkerville, shipped over one ton
