Wat (Temple) Prahat Doi Suthep, the most famous Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai

Wat (Temple) Prahat Doi Suthep, the most famous Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai. There are 360 steps to be climbed in order to reach the peak at which the main buildings of the temple are located. Worshipers can kneel before the temple and statues of Buddha, light candles and burn incense in addition to acquiring a lotus flower which is held in both hands as a path around the main temple is traversed. The purpose of the above is to garner good luck and karma and it was quite amusing to reach the bottom of the temple and find vendors of lottery tickets hoping to capitalize on the 'good luck' of the worshipers returning from their visit to the temple. I must say that business was brisk and the cost of a ticket was around 110 Baht (US$).
