A nomad family moves their yak across a wetland plain in the former Tibetan kingdom of Aba on the Tibetan Plateau. Through forced migration programs and global warming, the grasslands have undergone major changes in recent years; wetlands drying up and stagnated grass growth. The Chinese government has other plans for the vast landscape of eastern Tibet, including gas exploration and large scale farming of barley and wheat- although it is unsure if the environment is able to cope with such crops. Over 4500 meters, much of the area remains frozen for 6-9 months a year.
