The photograph shows the east end of a boiler room that was torn down and restored by the government. There is a visible line where the old and new brick join, indicating the restoration work. The extension of the building was 16 x 4 feet larger than the original structure. In the photo, Capt. Warrel and Mr. A. Wagner, the chief engineer, can be seen standing on a boiler foundation that was erected by the government. The photograph was taken by Sgt. Bonner on October 18, 1919.
