--Tom's Tavern, once a Pearl Street landmark, occupied this space until the death of owner Tom Eldridge in May of 2007. The burgers at Tom's Tavern were a local favorite. Eldridge opened the tavern in 1959. Salt Bistro, a farm to table restaurant, currently occupies the space at 1047 Pearl St., just east of the pearl Street Mall.
