Waldsiedlung Krumme Lanke, Berlin. Housing Settlement built by the housing cooperative Gagfah in 1937-40 for the SS to plans of Hans Gerlach. The estate lies between Argentinischer Allee and terraced housing, detached houses and semi-detached houses have a simple design with pitched roof, plaster exterior, plain tiles, wood-paneled dormers & shuttered windows. Rustic colors, reddish brown, dark green and dark blue, are used as the buildings were intended to blend into the woodland area. After WW2 the allies allocated the housing to refugees & victims of the Nazi Regime and the building was given listed historical monument status in 1992. The estate was renamed Waldsiedlung Krumme Lanke.
