It is best to start them inpots not exceeding twice their own diameter, in whichthey may remain till started eight inches or should be transferred then to larger pots in whichto bloom, exercisirtg great care not to disturb the rootsor break away the soil from about them, and settingthem considerably deeper in the larger pots. Thismethod prevents the soil from becoming sour, and en-ables the roots forming at the base of the stem to be-come feeders, greatly increasing the number and size of the blossoms. « LILIUM CANDIDUM.
