German dugout at Mont See, Meuse, France. The dugout belonged to the commanding officer and featured walls covered in burlap and furniture made from twisted boughs. The injured officer pictured was part of the 1st Division, which captured Mont See. This photograph was taken on December 21, 1918. [111-SC-37827, 12-21-18]
