Narang District village elders listen during the Security and Development Shura at the district center here, Nov. 2. More than 100 village elders from across the district attended the shura. At the conclusion of the shura, the village elders agreed to continue discussions about taking a more active role in securing their villages from insurgents in cooperation with the Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police and coalition forces.
