Durch die Schädelkapsel medianwärts, den hinteren Querbalken derselben und den hinteren Arm des Tympanicum hinten, den grossen Rahmen seitwärts und den vom Nasale, Palatinum und dem umschlossenen Knorpel gebildeten Querbalken vorn wird ein grosser Raum begrenzt, der zugleich Augen- und Schläfenhöhle darstellt.
