A pale green jade chape of tapering rectangular shape and eliptical cross-section with a pair of kui dragons in high relief on one side. The smaller is immediately behind the larger one (as if stalking it), the head of the larger dragon is turned back to look at the smaller dragon. The other face of the chape has geometric patterns of Warring States inspiration in low relief. The smaller end is pierced with one fairly large hole flanked by two smaller holes for affixing the chape to the sword scabbard.
