Night neon view, from Bally's Sign to Planet Hollywood, illuminated Eiffel Tower Paris Resort rising night sky, Las Vegas Strip

The theme of the Paris Hotel and Casino Resort is the City of Paris. It includes a half-scale 541 ft (165 m) tall replica of the Eiffel Tower (a full size replica being thwarted by the proximity of Las Vegas Airport), a sign in the shape of the Montgolfier Balloon, a two-thirds replica of the Arc de Triomphe, a replica of La Fontaine des Mers and the front of the hotel looking like the Paris Opera and the Louvre. Construction began 1997 and was completed in April 1999. The resort, covering 24 acres ( hectares) opened in 1 September 1999, at an estimated cost of $760 million. Barry Manilow has headlined since 2010. Bally's, Las Vegas, on the former site of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, cost $106 million in 1973 and has a 6200 square metre gaming floor. Its 'Jubilee!' burlesque show opened in 1981. The girls in the production wear feathered headdresses weighing 35 pounds (16 kg)
