Bonfires abounded, as did barrels of beer, and on the 21st we haveto chronicle an elegant entertainment at the State House, Avherethe Governor (John Penn, then just about to be married to AnneAllen, elder daughter of William Allen the Chief Justice, and whowas very probably awaiting this repeal for the purpose), the ofl&cersof the Government, of the Army, and of the Navy, including Captain.
