April is the best month to take photos of the Glossy ibises as big migrating flocks stop in the protected area of Kalamas estuaries in northwest Greece. For days I was observing a flock of about 40 birds that were feeding in the swallow waters of a marsh. It was the fourth day that I decided to set up my hide and wait the Glossy ibises to approach. After many hours the birds became so bold that I could hear every single splashing of the water while they were moving, pecking or preening. Like this very co-operative bird that decided to start preening just in front of my hide, giving me the chance to take the photo that I wanted.
