Generally the builders make things as unsightly as possible during the erec- tion of a building, but here there is an ornamental appearance to even the hoarding and it is about to be capped by flower boxes filled with geraniums and trailing plants. While on the sub- ject of flower boxes, note should be taken of the excellence of the appear- ance of the boxes in front of the Bon Marche. There are about 600 feet of them and they are certainly a fine sight just now. C. Hoffmeister planted them and is well worthy of his meed of praise for the effective display they make. M. Lewis, of Coeur d'Alene, was vis- iting his friends in the trade here last week. He reports good business east of the mountains. Fred W. Gust, of the Kosery, was successful in winning first prize for a decorated automobile in the Potlatch parade, and Tom V. Bhoades, of the Crescent Flower Store, got a first prize in another class of the same parade. During the last three weeks rose shows have been held on successive Mondays in the rooms of the Commer- cial Club.
