Boats on the beach at Aldeburgh in Suffolk are antique fishing vessels of the kind that inspired Benjamin Britten's opera Peter Grimes.
Antique, 19th century open rowboats, once used for fishing on the open sea, are beached on the shingle, near the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) station in Aldeburgh. The restored wooden boats are freshly painted white, with blue, red and yellow trim.
