Swinging pendulum ball in Technical museum Berlin Germany

Foucault's swinging pendulum knocks over all the small cylindrical cones during the course of a day demonstrating the rotation of the earth. This pendulum of French physicist Leon Foucault was the first dynamic proof of the earth's rotation in an easy-to-see experiment, and in the 1850s it created a sensation in the academic world and society at large.
