Fracturesmooth, resinous, reddish-brown,showing dark oil-cells and shiningcrystals of oxalate of calcium. Hasan aromatic odor and a bitter taste.*Constituents. — Contains vola-tile oil, resin, and a bitter principlecalled cusparin. ANGUSTURA EXTRACTUM FLUIDUM. Fluid Extract of Angustura. To make five hundred cubic centimeters (or its equivalent—17 U. ), use five hundred grams (or its equivalent—17f- avoirdu-pois ounces) of the drug, in No. 60 powder. As a menstruum use alcohol and water mixed in the proportion oftwo hundred grams (about 8J fluidounces) alcohol to every one hundredgrams (about 3-^ fluidounces) of water. For suggestions as to details, see page 451. Dose.—1 to cubic centimeters (15 to 40 minims). ANGUSTURA of Angustura. From fifteen grams (about ^ avoirdupois ounce) of the drug makefive hundred grams (equal to about 17 U. S. fluidounces). About thesame strength as the preparation of 1870.
