A colourful Maasai woman from Malambo district in the Ngorongoro Crater of Tanzania

Malambo district in the Ngorongoro Crater of Tanzania The Massai pastoralists arguably the most recognisable of all African tribes live in harmony with the animals and environment and yet are under extreme pressure to survive from the Government tourism and poor harvests The irony is that because of their lifestyle animals are in abundance which attracts the tourists on safari and yet they reap none of the financial benefits from millions of tourist dollars that pours in annually With poor harvests and lack of water women are forced to walk up to 15km every day in search of water and disease is high
