A short-stemmed perennial, attaining about 25cm. in height including the raceme, c^espitoso-ramose and subsuffruticose at the base, densely rooting, nearly glabrous in leaves and thinly pubescent in the stems, rachises, pedicels and calyx. l^eaves dense, opposite, but often subalternate in the superior ones, long- (the upper short-) petiolate, triangularly ovate to ovato-lanceo- late, truncate or truncato-subcordate and sliort-cuneate in centre at the base, acute or subobtuse at the apex, lobate with closed or open obtuse small sinuses and the lobes ovate with sharply or obtusely inciso-serrate teeth, membranaceous, pallid-green in recent, subquinquenerved at the base, with loose veins, aboutIJ—7cm. long, §—3J cm. broad ? petiole slender, attaining about 7cm„ long, glabrous or thin-pubescent. Raceme simple but some- times ramose at the base, erect, much exserted above the leaves, multiflorous, subdensely fructiferous and elongated measuring about 4J—16cm. in length ? bract linear-lanceolate, or lan- ceolate, entire, as long as the fructiferous pedicels,.
