Christened “Avalon Hall” after the mystical island from the legend of Britain’s King Arthur, the discovery was made by diving instructor Martyn Farr (63). Video footage taken by Martyn shows him plunging the depths of this previously undiscovered New Zealand cave through a 350-feet long underwater passage, before emerging into an amazing display of Stalactites and Stalagmites. Martyn from Crickhowell, South Wales journeyed though a three mile-long system of underground tunnels to reach the virgin cave, carrying 65-pounds of equipment. He spent around nine-hours in total underground and captured the only footage of this extraordinary place.
