A sign on the site of Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School in Rochester High Street, Kent

Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School (known variously as Rochester Maths, The Math or Joe Willy's) still exists as a boys' grammar school in Rochester, although not on its original site. It was founded by the 17th-century politician Sir Joseph Williamson, who left £5,000 to set up this school and another in Thetford (also still in existence). This sign marks the original site of the school in Rochester High Street where it spanned a part of the city wall. it was demolished in the early 1970's and the site is now a car park.
