Mr. Charles F. Gunckel was born in Germantown, Montgomery County, Ohio,January 4, 1837, and continued his residence there till 1858. When he had arrived atthe proper age he commenced his education at Spencers Academy, at which place hereceived an ordinary academical education. In 1859 he removed to Middletown, wherehe studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1862. From that time he has been suc-cessful in all pursuits of life, and amo
