The formation of gaseous matters in the ali-mentary canal is a verycommon thing in healthand in disease. Though usually considered asa mere unpleasantness in health, it often consti-tutes really a more serious condition, particu-larly when the production takes place in thestomach, as in cases of sudden and acute indi-gestion.
