He is one of the worthycitizens of the locality that Ohio has fur-nished to this state. His birth occurred inJefferson county, Ohio, December 15. 1823,and is a representative of one of the oldfamilies of Virginia. His paternal grand-father, Ross Alison, lived in that state andthere Samuel Alison, the father of our sub-ject, was born and reared. As a companion. MRS. M. M. ALISON.
