Theylived there two years prior to any other white people. Col. Edmund Phinney was of the fifth generation in linealdescent from the Mayflower, thus making A. M. F. (Phinney)Hayford the ninth, to wit: Thomas Rogers came over in theMayflower, died in Plymouth in the winter of 1620-1, and wasburied on Burial Hill.
