Ross River, Australia. 20th November, 2017. Signs of the change in seasons from dry to wet on the Ross River, Townsville, Queensland, Australia Credit: P&F Photography/Alamy Live News

These pictures were taken on the morning of 20/11/2017 after overnight rainfall. They suggest a promising start to the wet season in the Townsville area, which due to its unique location on the coast, can be hit and miss from year to year. Townsville is position just north of the mountains of Cape Cleveland, and where the Australian coast starts orientating west, which often results in storm clouds passing this region by.
