The stone tower known as the Frauenturm or Dickerturm in Goerlitz, Germany. Goerlitz is known as "the city of towers". This is one of several towers built for defensive purposes during the medieval period. This one dates to 1305 and is located in Elisabethstrasse and has walls which are about five metres thick. The city's coat of arms, seen on the side of the tower, were granted in 1433 by Emperor Sigismund.
