The dramatic dome shaped mountain of Suliven near Lochinver Sutherland Scotland The top 500 feet are formed of layers of Torridonian Sandstone lying over lewisian gneiss Suliven consists of two significant peaks Caisteal liath and Meall meadhonach which are separated by a col known as Bealach Mor The northern part of Suliven has been displaced downward by a fault which passes through Bealach Mor and was probably caused at the time the Atlantic Ocean opened
