THE oldest member of the Board of Managementof the Pottery, Glass and Brass Salesmens As-sociation, from the point of long continuous service,is John Nixon. He was one of the thirty that at-tended the banquet at Schuman & Pidgeons on Thurs-day, January 7, 1892, when the Association waslaunched. Six of those present on that occasion areno longer living. * In the year 1895 Mr. Nixon was appointed treasurer, which office he held until 1898, after which he. JOHN NIXON. was elected president, and served two terms. Sincethat time Mr. Nixon has always been on the Board ofManagement, and is one of the active and faithfulattendants at all meetings During his term of officeas president the present method of voting for theofficers by ballot was instituted. This is one of themost important features introduced into the Associa-tion, and to the best of our knowledge ever since thisrule went into existence with one exception Mr. Nixonhas polled the largest vote He has always been aworker, and stands high on the list as sponsor for new members.
