Paris, France - 19 September 2018 Notre-Dame,the famous medieval Catholic cathedra, is located on the ële de la Cit in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France. Here we see a statue of Pope John Paul II in the cathedral gardens. Erected in 2014, it was sculpted by Sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, the president of the Russian Art Academy. A landmark of the city, the cathedral has always been is a stunning example of the French Gothic architectural style. Building work commenced in 1160, but was not substantially completed until a century had passed. Editor Note: entry to the Cathedral is free and unticketed; you only pay to climb the towers or enter the catacombs. All exterior shots taken from freely accessible public land and in plain view.
