One of the concern's specialties is dracsena for shipments of canes to the United States, At the present time there are some fine specimens among the seedlings from improved varieties. Aspidistras, amaryllis, cycas and palms of all kinds are also grown. PITTSBURGH. The Market. With the most delightful summer weather one could imagine, and little going on in the trade, there is nothing for the florist to do but take things easy, and that is what most of the re- tailers are doing. They seem to enjoy it so well that there is little talk of vacations. There is enough good stock of all kinds coming in to satisfy the demands and the wholesalers seem quite pleased with conditions and, like the retailers, are taking it easy. Among the growers one can see more hard work. There is great activity, but only in putting the houses in shape, not in building. Some remodeling is being done. Various Notes. The Florists' Club met July 7 for the last time until fall. I cannot find anyone who is sure of going to the convention, although the ocean trip appeals to a great many and, as there will probably be another hot spell before that time, there will be a representation of some kind from this city.
