The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon Myanmar perhaps the most stunning Buddhist monument in South East golden dome rises 322ft high and is 2500 years old. There are four covered entrances to the main platform of the huge golden dome which is surrounded by an assortment of gold stupas, shrines, mystical figures and statues. Burmese worshipers visit at all times of the day but an early evening stroll is a magical time as the rays of the setting sun turn the glittering dome a crimson gold and orange.
