Dasashvamedha Ghat is located along the Ganges river in Varanasi in the Indian state of Uttar Ghat is where Lord Brahma is said to have sacrificed ten horses in order to celebrate the return of Shiva on earth. Ganges is the river of northern India and Bangladesh rising in the Himalaya Mountains and flowing about 2,510 km generally eastward through a vast plain to the Bay of Bengal. The river is sacred to Hindus. The river passes the holy bathing sites at Haridwar, Allahabad and Varanasi.
