State Fisli Hatchery demonstrated that both types of tags remain in place satisfactorily for a j^ear. In the experiment at the hatchery 100 white catfish were tagged with strap tags, and half of these were also tagged with disk-dangler tags. The fish were held in a weed-choked pond of one-third acre, and checked at regular intervals for a period of one year. At the end of this time none of the tags had fallen off and few were loose. However, the strap tags had all become hidden under a covering of opaque mucus, making them difficult to see.
