A close-up view of a nursery web spider (Pisaura mirabilis) resting on a leaf in a woodland habitat. The female spider carries her egg sac below her abdomen and creates a web nursery when the spiderlings emerge from the sac. The jersey web spider is a member of the Pisauridae family and can be found across the palearctic region. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in July.
