Pvt. Gibbon took this photograph in December 1918 from a point north of Gesnes, Meuse. The image shows an abandoned German cantonment at the foot of a slope in the foreground, with St. Pie Parm on the opposite hill to the right. The ground in the photograph was captured from the enemy by the 91st Div., 1st Ar Corps, during operations on October 1-4, 1918.
