Two portions of armlets made oflignite or jet, each about 2 inches long, were found near thewooden platform at the north-east corner. One is a littlethicker and coarser than the other, and forms part of acircle, which, if completed, would measure exactly 3 inchesacross (internal diameter). The other is polished and of ajet black colour, internal diameter 2| inches. A third frag-ment of a similar ornament was found in the debris whenclosing up the crannog. It is more slender and has a. The portion ofring made of shale found at the bottom of the deep shaftbelow the log pavement is smaller than either of these,its internal diameter being only 2 inches, and its external Sj(Figs. 15G and 15 7).
