White, four great-grandchil-dren and a niece, Mrs. David BARTON, Walter K., second presi-dent of the Franklin Stake of Zion,Franklin Co., Idaho, was born Dec. 14,1877, at Sterling, Sanpete Co., Utah,a son of Walter Kilshaw Barton andSusan Angeline Petty. He was bap-tized July 1, 1886, by John L. Peacock,and ordained a Deacon at Sterling,but lived at the mines until he wasgrown. After receiving a commonschool education, he became a studentin the commercial department of the. Snow Normal College at Ephraim,Utah, graduating from the commercialdepartment in 1901 and from thenormal training department of thatinstitution in 1903. He became a teacher in the OneidaAcademy at Preston, Idaho, acting inthat capacity from 1903 to 1913 andfrom 1915 to 1918. He was ordainedan Elder by Joseph S. Geddes and in1906 (June 27th) he married JeanetteM. Smith, which union has been blessedwith ten children, namely, Flora, GlennS., Louise, Walter Kenneth, Ruth, CliffSmith, Donna, Vaunna, Jeanette Marieand Helen Kay. Elder Barton was amember of the Oneida Stake Sunday School Board from 1904 to 1906 andwas assistant superintendent of Reli-gion Classes in the Stake in 1906 and1907. From 1907 to 1921 he was sec-retary-treasurer of the Oneida Acad-emy Board of Education. From 1906to 1907 he acted as clerk of the PrestonF
