Mouche de pêche - L'Levrière soft hackle wet fly. Tied by Martin Battilana Hook: Maruto 103BL Tail: 4 dyed olive pheasant tail fibers Body: wood duck flank feather, pulled back over dark olive lamb's wool Hackle: grouse back feather Head: olive thread The Levrière is a heavily dressed soft hackle fly, named after the the Levrière River, in Normandy. It is a darker version of the Andelle, with a bronze or brown duck feather for the casing, and grouse instead of French partridge for the hackle. It was designed to imitate an emerging mayfly nymph, to be fished in or just below the surface film. The fly was developed in the mid-1940s on Norman trout streams. The fly is closely related to, and developed around the same time as the Andelle.
