Castel Sant'Angelo and Ponte Sant'Angelo just after dusk, Rome, Lazio, Italy.

This image, taken just after dusk, shows Castel Sant'Angelo and Ponte Sant'Angelo in Rome, Lazio, Italy. Castel Sant'Angelo is a towering cylindrical building in Parco Adriano, Rome. It was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. The building was later used by the popes as a fortress and castle, and is now a museum (Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo). Ponte Sant'Angelo, once the Aelian Bridge or Pons Aelius, meaning the Bridge of Hadrian, was completed in 134 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian. It was built to span the Tiber, from the city centre to his newly constructed mausoleum. The bridge is now used solely for pedestrian traffic.
