The Vasamuseet (Vasa Museum) and the Finngrundet lightship as seen from a sightseeing boat in Stockholm, Sweden. The Vasa Swedish Warship was built from 1626 to 1628. After setting off on her maiden voyage on 10th August 1628 she sank after sailing less than a nautical mile. She was built top-heavy and had insufficient ballast. After a strong gust of wind she was forced onto her port side resulting in water flowing through the open lower gun ports causing her to sink to a depth of 32m and only 120m from shore.
