History: John and Aunt Orelena Puckett lived in the one room cabin beginning in 1874. Aunt Orelena is known for helping with over a thousand births for families in the area, staying with the mother and infant after the birth as well. An image from the Gene Ahrens Photography Archive. He captured the varied beauty of the contiguous 48 states as well as Canada, including the maritime provinces, throughout his 40+ year career as a stock photographer.
