The Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy - a little to the right of, and on a level with the larger tree - are visible in this image and so is the Pleiades star cluster, together with a number of bright stars that include Mirach and those within the Cassiopeia constellation. The planet Mars, too, is on show, whilst a feint glow from the Northern Lights can also be seen.
