Besides the Castle of Howth two other residences of consider-able dimensions stood in the sixteenth century on the first of these was Corr Castle, which belonged to the family ofWhite, and the other, which stood on the lands of Sutton, belongedto the family of Hackett.^ The remains of Corr Castle have beenthus described by the President of the Royal Society of Antiquariesof Ireland :^— They consist of an oblong tower, four stories high, m^^..
