Negative hand imprints on the wall next to the entrance to the Pech Merle Cave near Cabrerets in the Lot department in the Occitania region in Southwest France. The Pech Merche Cave is famous for its Palaeolithic cave paintings and negative hand imprints dated from the Gravettian culture some 25,000 years BC. It is one of the few prehistoric cave painting sites in France that remain open to the general public.
