The American Institute of Park Executives will hold its twenty-third annual meeting at Minneapolis, August 19 to 24. Headquarters will be at the Curtis hotel, on Third avenue, south, and Tenth street. The executive com- mittee will hold a preliminary meeting August 19. The convention proper will open Mon- day morning, August 21, when Theodore Wirth, of Minneapolis, will call the meeting to order. To the addresses of welcome by Mayor Leach and William H. Bovey, president of the board of park commissioners, response will be made by G. A. Parker, superintendent of parks at Hartford, Conn. President G. H. Hollister will read his address and the remainder of the morning will be devoted to committee reports. The afternoon session, convening at 2 o'clock, will be taken up by the presentation and discussion of a num- ber of addresses, as follows: "State and National Parks," by Major W. A. Welch, superintendent of Palisades In- terstate park, New York; "The Land- scape Architect and the Park Execu- tive," by Percival Gallagher, Brookline, Mass.; "Municipal Eose Gardens," by Robert Pyle, West Grove, Pa.; "En- gineering in Park Development," by A. C. Godward, park and city planning en- gineer of Minneapolis. The American Park Society will have charge of the Monday evening session, at 7:30 o'clock. J.
